Meet the parents behind the book and learn why we created this resource for families exploring biomedical approaches and children's health.
Our Story: Why We Wrote This Book
When our children faced ongoing health and developmental challenges, we found ourselves asking the same questions many parents ask: what is driving these symptoms, and what else should we be considering?
As we began searching for answers, we explored topics such as heavy metal exposure, environmental factors, nutrition, gut health, and other biological imbalances that some families believed could play a role in children’s health and development.
What we found was not a single clear explanation, but a large and often conflicting body of information spread across books, websites, practitioners, and parent communities.
Like many families, we were trying to make sense of it all and understand how these different pieces might fit together.
Meet Jan Martin & Tressie Taylor
We are mothers who have personally navigated the challenges of raising children with autism and complex health concerns.
Through years of research, collaboration with other parents, and hands-on experience supporting our own families, we began to build a working understanding of:
Heavy metal exposure and detoxification approaches
Environmental and nutritional factors that may influence health and development
Gut, immune, and metabolic imbalances often discussed in biomedical care
Structured approaches, including the Andy Cutler frequent-dose chelation protocol
This book brings together what we learned in a practical, organized format so other parents don’t have to start from scratch.
Why the Book Is Called Fight Autism and Win
The title reflects our experience as parents trying to understand and respond to our children’s health challenges. It is not about fighting against autism or against children. It is about fighting for our children—supporting their health, development, and long-term well-being.
At the time the book was created, many families were actively exploring environmental, nutritional, and biomedical factors that might help explain the challenges they were seeing. We were part of that same search for understanding and direction.
The title reflects that determination and hope.
Our Mission
We believe parents deserve access to organized, understandable information about complex health topics without having to piece it together from scattered or conflicting sources.
A structured way to understand complex biomedical topics
Practical information based on real-world experience and research
A clearer way to evaluate symptoms, patterns, and possible contributing factors
A reference point families can return to as they navigate decisions with their healthcare providers
A Note On Our Approach
Fight Autism and Win is an educational resource created by parents for parents. It is intended to help families better understand heavy metal exposure, related health factors, and approaches that some families choose to explore alongside qualified healthcare professionals. The content is educational in nature and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical condition and does not replace professional medical advice.
